yes, I got this. super cute toy camera. can't wait to use it.
And I also got this. 　Japanese Polaroid-style camera.
And I ordered this. new Ricoh digital camera.

I ordered all of them thru my mom, because everything in Japan is cheaper and nicer :)
My mom finally said, "you remember you already got 2 cameras, don't you", when I asked my mom to order the Ricoh camera.
Sorry mom, but I do remember. and I need all. I will pay you later, ok?

Dry run for bouquet/flower

on last weekend, we went to Los Angeles Flower Market. We are not hiring florists (as you expect), so we do our bouquets and center pieces DIY. This is awesome place to get flowers~. We got there after 9am, it seemed like all fresh flowers are gone.... we have to get here really early like 6am at least on the day before our wedding.

さて、そろそろ花の練習を・・・とダウンタウンの花市場へ行って来ました。いや、出来ない出来ないとは分かっていたけど、やっぱり私センスないわー。そして、いつも途中で諦める。悪いように聞こえるけど、いいことなんですよ、これ。全てに妥協するということを知っているんです。完璧を求めてもムリなので、得意の「私のウェディング、カジュアルなんで・・・」で済ませようと思って。これくらいのブーケが出来れば、私的には御の字です。

ring pillow completed

Look at this ring pillow~. Isn't it pretty??? I LOVE it! Originally I was thinking to buy a ring pillow. (see this post) However, our budget is almost gone, I wanted to diy as much as possible.

So, I started thinking how I could make it happen.... OK, I found this flower hair clip from Mandizzle which I bought a year ago. and I thought it would work perfectly! I went to Joann's and got this simple white fabric ($1.66) and white ribbon ($0.80). And I asked my friend Tomomi to complete this pillow :)) Yes, not me, she DIY it... Thanks, Tomomi!!! I love it~~~~!



リングピロー、完成！！！　って、私が作ったんじゃないんだけど。買おうかなぁと思ってたんだけど、資金も底をついてきたので、いろいろ考えた結果・・・　前に買ってたヘアアクセサリーが使えるんじゃないかと思い、布とリボンを買ってそれを友人に託しました。（って、言うと聞こえが良いが、本当のところ、作ってください！と、押し付けてきました）　そして、今日メールが届いて････　もう、私の望んでいた通りになってて、すんごい嬉しかった～！超かわいい、私のアイデア（えっ？）。　ウソです。そこじゃなくて。ありがとう、私の思ってたものをそのまま形にしてくれて☆これを私の甥っ子が持って入場の予定です。また楽しみが増えたよん。

Dry run for the cake

we had a dry-run of cake last night at our friend's place. we both love red velvet cakes she bakes and this is what she baked last night!

so pretty color~. super yummy. berries give a great umami-ness.（うまみ） i'm sure my japanese friends and family will love it! we also discussed about the decoration and got some awesome ideas :) can't wait to show you guys...

今日は私たちのウェディングケーキを作ってくれる友達の家で試食会をしました。私は基本的に甘いものがそんなに好きじゃないんだけど、本当にこのケーキはおいしいー。レッドベルベットは結構好きだし。そして、ベリーも入れてくれてたので、ホントにおいしかったよー。デコレーションのことや、サイズ・数量なんかについても話し合って、有意義な時間でした。彼女にはフォトブースも造ってもらうことになってるので、頭上がりません。　ケーキどんなデザインになるか楽しみ～。私たちの式に来られるみんなは、ケーキエリアを楽しみにしててねん。

we went to Pasadena today. to get Alex's clothes. yes, he hasn't found one yet.
yes, our wedding is in 4 weeks.
we start from urbanoutfitters, banana, zara, h&m, american apparel and Jcrew.
finally, he found pants!!!! from Jcrew!
what a big relief :))) he's not gonna wear a suit as he was planning before. he goes more casual yet nice style!! He still needs to get a shirt, a tie, and a hat.

oh, by the way, stay away from Brooks Brothers in BH. or if you really want to be treated like Julia Roberts from Pretty Woman, this is the place :P

後はシャツと蝶ネクタイと帽子。　花嫁はドレスを20分で決め、花婿は4ヶ月かかって探しております。が、やっとそんな長いトンネルにも光が差してきました。神様ありがとう。
ってか、アレックスいっつも買い物長すぎ。私は疲れたお父さんのようにいつも、試着室の前の椅子に座って待っております。男女いつも逆転。

We won't hire any florist. (of course, because we can save big bucks from this)
As I posted here and here , we got some mason jars and small jars as flower vases. But I still felt like these were not enough and I got something else last week again :P

Jasmine tea and Oolong tea! Jasmine tea $ 2.19. Oolong tea $ 4.49 (both from a Chinese supermarket). I was inspired by the picture at top, and I believe I saw someone was using these Jasmine tea metal containers as vases.

また買ってしまいました。花瓶の代わりとなるものを。いやー、この写真超かわいくないですか？（あと、このジャスミンティーのカンを花瓶代わりにしてるのも見たんだけど、写真がみつからなかった。）会社近くのチャイニーズスーパーを４軒はしごしてやっと見つけた。他の店は超巨大版しかなくて、やっとこのミニサイズをみつけた！2.19ドルとかって、すごい安い！これ、普通におしゃれな店で買うと8ドルくらいしたりするらしい。ビバ中国街。 そして、一石二鳥。当分、お茶には困らないと思う。

Finally we went to get a marriage license! We went to this Beverly Hills location. No line at all!! It took us only 10 minutes! Now we can marry anytime :)



マリッジライセンス取って来ました！日本で言う婚姻届を取りに行った感じでしょうか？こちらはライセンスを取りに行くのに二人とも一緒に行って身分証明証を提示します。よく考えてみれば日本の結婚って簡単すぎ？本人が行かなくてもいいなんて、ちょっとある意味すごい！　この書類に二人がサインしてPastorがさいんして、あとは一人証人がサインしてまたここに提出に帰ってきたら、晴れて夫婦です。
