１０月にPalm Springsであったドイツ人の友達の結婚式。この前、Rock'nRoll Brideで取り上げられましたよん。いやー、たくさん素敵な写真あるんですけど、CDをまだもらってないのでサイトからとProofのを載せてしまいます。

After coming back from Japan Honeymoon, we've been busy... we had been looking for new place to live and are moving out this month!

My family in law, finally!

Wow, one more week to go! This is the last weekend for us as SINGLES :) Our friends started to arrive here in LA, and finally I get to meet Alex's family in person! woo hoo!!

I'm not gonna lie, yes, I was nervous :) But his dad, mom, brother and brother's girlfriend (and all his friends) are super nice. sigh. :)

We were all super exhausted and hungry, so we stopped by this taco stand at the corner of 1st and Baudry. haha-, my first dinner with in-laws are at TACO stand :) That is so us!
Now, I really feel like I'm getting married... EXCITED!

昨日、やっとアレックスの家族に初対面しました。みんなすごーーーーーく、いい人たちで良かった。フゥ。でもみんなすんごい疲れてたし、空港で立ち話も出来ないのでタコ食べにダウンタウンへ（本当に私たちタコス好きすぎです）。家族との初食事がタコスタンドって、あーやっぱり私たちらしい。でも、もうみんな疲れすぎて、会話なくもくもくと食べてました。

今日はこれからみんなで出かけてきます。　あー、なんかやっと本当に結婚するんだと感じてきた。来週のうちの家族とアレックス家族との対面がなんか想像しただけでウケるんですけどー。

yes, I got this. super cute toy camera. can't wait to use it.
And I also got this. 　Japanese Polaroid-style camera.
And I ordered this. new Ricoh digital camera.

I ordered all of them thru my mom, because everything in Japan is cheaper and nicer :)
My mom finally said, "you remember you already got 2 cameras, don't you", when I asked my mom to order the Ricoh camera.
Sorry mom, but I do remember. and I need all. I will pay you later, ok?

トイカメラと今更チェキと、やっとコンデジを買い換えました。全部日本で購入です。ということは、おかんに頼んでます。この前「アンタ、2台買ったの忘れてない？」って言われました。　忘れてません。　全部必要なんです。このお金はこっちに来た時のホテル代で相殺するので許してください。

marriage license

Finally we went to get a marriage license! We went to this Beverly Hills location. No line at all!! It took us only 10 minutes! Now we can marry anytime :)



マリッジライセンス取って来ました！日本で言う婚姻届を取りに行った感じでしょうか？こちらはライセンスを取りに行くのに二人とも一緒に行って身分証明証を提示します。よく考えてみれば日本の結婚って簡単すぎ？本人が行かなくてもいいなんて、ちょっとある意味すごい！　この書類に二人がサインしてPastorがさいんして、あとは一人証人がサインしてまたここに提出に帰ってきたら、晴れて夫婦です。

tool/ favor

we are completing one task at a time. and are not so stressed out so far :) even though we have only 37days.

last night I was preparing our paper fans. our wedding is outside in August, you know what it's gonna be like :) we hope these paper fans help our guests to cool down a little bit.

I stamped on all of fans front&back.
we got green & yellow fans from here. good deal :)

真夏の炎天下に結婚式なので、みんなに扇子を用意してあります。あ、ちなみにこれfavorを兼ねてありますね。表裏にハンコを押して出来上がりです。黄色とグリーン用意してあるので好きなほうを取っちゃってください！

Yay to us...almost there!

Hello, hello - Alex here: I'm finally back from my brief Germany trip (got another visa granted for the next three years in America, hooray), and now Kaori and I are officially in the HOTTEST phase of our wedding planning! We got a lot of things already covered, while other details still request immediate attention. Kaori has done a more than wonderful job so far, so I'd like to ask for a big round of applause for her tireless efforts so far!

*insert applaus and cheers here*

We have 48 more days to go until the big day, and we are more excited than ever to have the events of our wedding day become a wonderful premiere of what is about to follow after for the rest of our life. Stay tuned!

Happy Birthday to me!

June 9th is my birthday. I turned 35! wow!
When I was a little girl, I thought 35 was super old. I mean MATURE.
Now, I am the 35, and I haven't changed at all inside since then.
I am still inmature and childish and selfish. sometime, or you could say most of the time.
Thanks, my baby. Thank you for always always understanding me.
Even though you are not with me in this year's my BD, I still appreciate you :)
In the next my Birthday, we will be a married couple! yahoo!




6月9日は私の誕生日♪　（♪ってほど喜ばしいわけでもないけど）
35歳ですよ、私。もーーーーービックリー。
だって、うちのおかんが35の時は私は既に12歳！姉は17歳！二人の子を立派（か、どうかはわからんが）に、育ててたのに・・・
私はと言えば、自分ひとり育てるのに精一杯です。
でも、やっとやっと結婚できる（しみじみ）から、ここからまた人生の新しい一歩なんでしょう。
今年はアレックスはいつもののんびりのせいで、私の誕生日に帰ってくることが出来なかったけどその分、素敵なプレゼントを持ってドイツから帰ってくるでしょう・・・・（？）

My vow

While Alex is out of town, I have done lots of things.
Last night, I was writing my vow. and was crying as well.
Just writing vow made me soooo emotional, what's gonna happen in the day??
I hope I can complete reading without tears :p

I've been thinking to have some "funny" or "witty" kinda vow, then had been seaching and searching. But nothing made me really excited.
So, I went back to "traditional" vow, and the words made me cry!
I kept saying that our wedding is nothing traditional, but I totally go with it!
Since my first language is not English, it's hard to "feel" the words deep in my heart. "Traditional" vows came into my heart directly and I loved it!
I'm still working on it. Hopefully Alex will feel it as much as I do.



誓いの言葉ってのを、考えなければ。。。と思って長いのですが、Alexともいろいろ話し合わないといけないし、Pastorとも話さないといけないしと伸ばし伸ばしにしておりましたが、Alexが今いないので一人でゆっくりと考えてみました。
普通のウェディングじゃないから、誓いの言葉も何かおもしろいものを・・・とか、ちょっと人と違うものを・・・って考えてたんだけど、あんまりコレって言うのがなくて、時間ばかりが進んでおりました。で、トラディショナルな誓いの言葉をサーチしてたら・・・読んでただけで、涙がはらはらと流れてきて、コレだ！！と思ったのです。
英語があまり得意じゃない（オイ！）から、英語で自分の気持ちを一生の誓いをすることにちょっと不安を覚えていたんですが、やっぱりトラディショナルなのはダイレクトに入ってきました。ちょっとそれをちょこちょこと変えたりして、まだ完成はしてないんですが、アレックスがこれを聞いて私と同じように感じ取ってくれればいいなぁ。。。

This is what I paid for last one week...

$ 188.80 (+$60) - visiting a doctor's office for my ankle (after 80% covered by my insurance, they still charge me this much. oh, America's medicare system has to be changed!!!)

$ 42.50 - parking ticket (oh, city of Pasadena!! they said my car was double-parked. hell yeah, b/c the huge SUV right next to mine was parked at "Compact car only" space!)

$ 216.40 - T-mobile bill ( yes, I made a phone call to Japan to get a reserv. for the cheap flight. ahhh the flight was cheaper but the tel. bill costs more.... hmm?)

$ 198 - brake pad (oh, my baby civic needs to replace brake pads every 9 months! maybe I drive too fast and step on the brake too often)

and more to come.... Car insurance renew, car registration ($216) etc...
I'm trying to cut my spending, but things happen when you least expect it (?)

This is why we need to keep our budget low :)
hmmmm, when can we move into new place.... ?? don't know yet.

Anyway, I am going out with my girls tonight!!! yay! Love drinking, eating and chatting with friends. That's the best remedy for this grumpy feeling :) hehe


もー、何で出費って重なるんでしょーかねー。。。
次から次へと、billが送られてきて、もう辛いーーーー。。。　はー。　一歩進んで二歩下がる。人生はワンツーパンチ...ってか、まぁ自分で使ったやつはいいんですけどー、電話代とか。駐禁って！納得いかん。となりのでかい車が線越えて（SUVのくせにコンパクトカーのとこに停めてた！）停めてたおかげで、私も線越えて停めてたからって45ドルって！！！一つ空けて停めればよかったのかー。ついてなさすぎ！！（いつものごとく2度の抗議の手紙は送ったんですが。City of LAなら許してくれたのに・・・）
あと、医療費！言うまでもなく。 などなど、いろいろありますな。ってことで、やっぱりウェディングにはあんまりお金使いたくないのです。

A couple of friends told us that our wedding would be a very first wedding for them to attend in their life(!). That is a huge honor for us!
But, our wedding is nothing "traditional". far from "traditional", so hopefuly it will be ok for them. I just don't wanna disappoint them! They may expect like this wedding... (I had been to so many weddings from "traditional" to "non-traditional" :)

Our ceremony will be held at a park, and we are considering having "standing ceremony" style. like below.

they have chairs for only first row (prob. for families?). We both like this style.

何人かの友達が私たちの結婚式が初めて出席する結婚式だと言ってくれて、おぉそれはちゃんとしなければ！（何を？）と思っているのですが。

ただ、私たちの式ってすごーくゆるーいカジュアルなものなので、これでいいかしら？（何が？）と思っております。まぁパーティの延長？って感じですかねー。

あまり、気負わないでね。みんなで楽しみましょーって雰囲気になると思います。

式もスタンディングスタイルなんて、いいかなーとアレックスと話し合っております。お楽しみに・・・

Who should walk me down the aisle?

I'd never worried about it. don't know why while many of brides were torn between "dad" or "step-dad"or something like that.
I don't have father since I was little and I'm not the person who cares "traditional" thing, so I always think like " yeah, maybe do by myself or with my fiance?".
Alex agreed with my idea walking two of us. But I kinda started to think like "how about with my mom?". only if she wants it. she is super shy, so I'm not sure if she can handle that situation.
So, I emailed her if she wants to do that. Then she emailed me back and said "What are you talking about??? I told you that your uncle will do that. He is going to fly all the way from Japan only for the reason!!". (He is going to stay here for just 2 nights!!!)
ahhh, I didn't know that.... ahhh, what am I gonna do? It's not like I don't want to...
I never in million years thought that I would have this "who should I pick?" moment in my life.
haha, funny :)
at the end, my mom wrote me, "it's your wedding. once in your life. you can do whatever makes you happy.".
Still don't know what to do....




日本で言うバージンロードってやつですか？そこを誰と歩くか悩むなんて思ってもなかったんですが。多分一人で歩くかアレックスとと考えていたんですが、最近むくむくとおかんと歩いてもいいかなーと思ってきたので、もし恥ずかしくなければ、歩く？って聞いてみたところ。
「いまさら」というタイトルで返信が。（うちのおかんはいつも気を引くタイトルつけるのがうまい）「〇〇兄ちゃん（これ、うちのおかんの弟）が歩くって言うたやんか！何を言よん。やけんわざわざアメリカまで2泊で行くんやろ！」ときた。はー、知らんかった。ってか、聞いてないし！
いや、とってもありがたいことなんですよ。「自分が父親のつもりで出席する」と、嬉しそうに言ってたらしいので。でも、どーしよー。何回かのメールのやり取りの後、おかんは「あんたの式やけんね。一番自分が楽しめると思うことしたらええよ」って言ってましたが。
うーん、どーしよーか悩む。

oh, as for the camera I bought from Japanese website, my mom could not send it to me.
Somehow America dose not accept packages which include lithium batteries, so I have to wait for it until August my mom to bring it with her :(


タダで引き受けてくれると言ってたビデオグラファーから返信がありません。さすがアメリカ。ちょっと嬉しかった分、ガッカリ。しょーがない。雇うお金はないからね。
あと、日本のトイカメラはうちのおかんが送ろうとしたら郵便局でアメリカについてから税関で送り返される可能性大だと言われ断念。残念。おかんが来る時に一緒に持ってきてもらうことになりました。練習したかったのにー。

videographer?

Photograph or Video or both?
We spend loooots of time to find our perfect photographer, however, we decided not to hire a videographer. Of course, we really wanted one and it would be great if we have one, if only we have no budget limitation.

Guess what happen, then??
Our friend emailed and his friend just offered us "free" wedding video!! (because he is looking to start "wedding" video business.) Who doesn't want to take the offer?? We are lucky!

BTW, I just bought this camera!

this is a tiny (2 inches!) toy-digital camera. (by Japanese manufacture)
What I like about this camera is... below

I can also shoot movie with this, and it looks like 8mm movie like old vintage movie style. And it was about $60!

式にビデオは必要か否か。いや、もちろん欲しいんだけど、お金がなくてねー。ってあきらめてたら、友達の友達が新しく結婚式のビデオを撮る仕事を始めようと思ってるらしく、ただで撮ってくれるとのこと。タダなら、そりゃーお願いしますと二つ返事しました。出来上がりはそんな期待してないけど（失礼）
ちなみにお金に糸目をつけないならば、オサレな８ミリ風がいいなーと常々思っていました。なんかいいのないかなーと日本のサイトで探し当てたのが上にあるトイカメラ。これで撮ると８ミリ風合い。６０００円。買ってみました。

最近全く更新してなかったんだけど。。なぜかというと、特になーんもしてないからです。招待状を出した後から、特に何もすることがない。やろうと思えばい ろいろあるんだろうけど、なんか今から準備してもこの狭い部屋で置いておくとこもないしー。という感じで、先延ばし。その代わりと言っちゃなんですが、と にかくうちの家族の飛行機の予約やらホテル調べやら、式の後の旅行の予定と、後は自分たちのハネムーン（と言っても日本）の予定をいろいろ考えてたりして バタバタはしておりますが。そんな感じの最近です。

busy busy

ahhh, I haven't posted anything again....
We've been busy busy, cuz we back and forth the paper stores or craft stores. Besides we did voluteer for LA marathon! (its nothing to do with our wedding :)
And then....Finally the invitations are almost ready to ship.

もうﾊﾞﾀﾊﾞﾀしてて、更新できなかったんだけど、やっと招待状が完成に近付いております。ふーー、長い道のりだったわ。ってほとんどアレックスがやったんだけど。私は店に行って、物調達係りでアレックスはデザインと細かい手作業。これ、普通逆？　なんせ、この大雑把な私がやると全てぶち壊しそうなので、任せました。

リングピローってやつですね。リング運んでくれる小さなかわいい男の子もいないので必要ないのはわかってるんですが。とにかくかわいい。でも、こうやってひとつひとつ小さいものでも、買っていってたらどんどんお金が出てってしまうので、我慢。我慢。

I just don't get it.

Why people still want "classic-cheesy" moment at their wedding??

It doesn't matter where they are from (US or Japan, anywhere), I think every country has some classic-embarrassing wedding moments... I have been to 7-8 weddings (in US & Japan) in my life and those experiences gave me some ideas what I do NOT want to do. Thank god, I learned.

Here is the list I do NOT need:

they seem really happy.... not me. "garter removal & toss"

eeeeewwww, Japanese classic. "candle service"

NO. Just no smashing. so classic...

Sorry, if I offended someone. It's just my "not to do" list.

なんか結婚式って恥ずかしい事がいっぱいあると思うんだけど、どうして人はついついやってしまうんでしょうかね？私は出来るだけ後で恥ずかしい思いをすることはしたくない！キャンドルサービスとかケーキ食べさせ合うときに相手の鼻にクリームつけちゃうとか・・・・

って、一番は酔っ払わないようにするだけか、私の場合。

(500) days of summer

I read this great post at Green Wedding Shoes about wedding inspiration from movie (500) days of summer. YES! It is one of my favorite movie in 2009.
It was a well well made movie! Story was great and everything looks really cute! (btw, I think she is the hipsterest actress I can ever think of now. isn't she? :))
This movie was all about Downtown LA, where our wedding ceremony will be held! at least we have one common, yay! (this scene was a little bit harsh though...)


映画「500 days of summer」（日本語タイトルわからん。でも確か同じだった？）をテーマにしたウェディングの記事があったのでここに。この映画2009年私のナンバーワン、ツーの映画でした。ロサンゼルスのダウンタウンが舞台でしかも建築にちょっとからんでたりして、すっごい良かった。で、ファッションとかもオシャレだったし。　一応、ロケーションは共通点（？）
